Who is Otto Partz?

Hey everybody! My name is Otto Partz.

You're probably wondering how a mechanic from Germany came to own
a Mopar parts store in America. That's a great question and an
even better story.

So here's the whole struedel as they say in
Stuttgart!

I guess you could say I wasn't having any fahrvergnügen
Do you remember that word?  You're probably still trying to
forget about it. If so, I'm sorry I mentioned it.  Anywhoo,
back in the early nineties that's all you ever heard on television
- Volkswagen proclaiming fahrvergnügen this, fahrvergnügen
that. eh!  At the same time, this beschissen singer
Falco was on the radio singing "Rock Me Amadeus."  Between
the  fahrvergnügen and the beschissen
Falco, I couldn't take it anymore.

"There's got to be more than this," I thought!

Don't get me wrong, I liked the occasional schnitzel and I
surely loved the bier.  And, let's not forget Claudia
Schiffer - ja vol!  But soon she was in America too -
only she left Germany to be with das kleine Arschloch
David Copperfield.

I wanted more!  I needed more!

So that was it!  I got rid of my shitbox Volkswagen Scirocco,
packed my suitcase, and blew my pop stand.  Auf
wiedersehen
!

So I'm leaving the airport in Chicago and I see a car like I've
never seen before. I'm not even sure it was a car.  It was
more like a speeding piece of art.  There it was In all of
its glory.  A lovely beast stamped out of American
steel.  I barely caught a glimpse of the name.  It was a
'Cuda.  What is a 'Cuda I thought.  This wasn't like
anything I had ever seen in the old country.  She was
beautiful. She was loud. She was fast.  I must learn more
about this "Cuda.

For the next month I wandered around Chicago looking for another
'Cuda but,  I didn't see one.  I did see a Dodge
Challenger though.  It was as beautiful as the 'Cuda.

There she was, orange and shiny, sitting in the lot at Frank's
Auto Center on Milwuakee Avenue.  I stopped in and talked the
salesman about it.  She was a 1974 Challenger in Hemi
Orange.  I was in love.

After haggling for a few hours, I boght my first Mopar.  The
salesman told me it was Mopar or No Car.  I was quite sure
what that meant but, I do now.

It's been almost 20 years since that day and I've never owned
another brand of cars. For Otto, it's definitely Mopar or No Car!

I started this website about 5 years ago to combine my love of
American Steel with my passion for the Internet.  I've never
looked back.  We now have customers and friends all across
America and the world.  Unbelievably, I have even exported
parts to my old homeland.

The question I've be asked most during my 20 years here in
America, don't you like German cars?   What about Mercedes
Benz, Porshe, Volkswagen?  My answer is always the
same.  Mopar or No Car.  Sure those other cars are fine
but, there nothing like driving American muscle.  Fast, sexy,
and loud.

Mopars are an example of why I came to this country and the reason
I will never leave.

Thanks for your interest!

Tschuss,

Otto
